What is transcription?
Transcription is a written or printed representation of something - basically it means listening to an audio and typing up what's heard in the audio.
Who uses transcription?
Transcription is used in many different fields - it's used in the medical field to type up different types of medical records, such as discharge notes, office visit notes, and operation notes, to be included in a patient's medical record. It's also used in the legal field so that law firms and courts have records of trials and other legal proceedings. Transcription is also being used increasingly by other professionals, such as authors, so they can speak out the information they want to put in their books and have someone else type it up. This saves them time so they can focus on other parts of the publishing process.
I offer general transcription of different types of audios and videos. I've transcribed class lectures, YouTube videos, interviews, and sermons, among other things.
